Shepherdstown Library friends to host 'biggest liar' contest

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - The Friends of the Shepherdstown Library Will Present "Lies and Tall Tales: Elect Shepherdstown's Biggest Liar" on Nov. 6 at 8 p.m. at the Men's Club.

Local storytellers Dabney Chapman, Jerry Cooperman, Mike Diesel, Laura First, Jay Hurley, Carlos Niederhauser and CJ Stephens will compete for the title of Shepherdstown's Biggest Liar in an evening of stories, music and refreshments.

Adam Booth, last year's champion, will not compete, but, as Champion Emeritus, will also present a story. Ed Zahniser will serve as Master of Ceremonies. The evening will feature the piano music of Sam Janotta.

The event will raise funds for Shepherdstown Library programs. Admission costs $10. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the library or at the door. Beer and wine will be available for a donation.

Sponsors include the Shepherdstown law firm of Arnold, Cesare and Bailey and the Ingram Insurance Agency of Kearneysville.
