Henry J. Bialogreck, 92



MARCH 20, 1915-OCT. 30, 2007

WILLIAMSPORT - Henry Joseph Bialogreck, 92, of Mount Williams Circle, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at his home.

Born March 20, 1915, in Flint, Mich., he was the son of the late Frank and Albino Stephens Bialogreck.

He graduated from Kenmore High School in New York.

He retired from Fairchild, where he was employed for 33 years.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Mazer Bialogreck; four sisters, Marie Flohr and Geanetta Glatz both of Tonawanda, N.Y., Josephine Bialogreck and Joann Bialogreck both of Kenmore, N.Y.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Hammer, Eleanor Leonard and Helen Diebl.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hagerstown. The Rev. Christopher Moore will be celebrant. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown.




Genevieve Ward, 80

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Genevieve Ward, 80, of Buchanan Trail West, died Monday, Oct., 29, 2007, at the home of her daughter, Patricia L. (Mrs. Jeffrey W.) Brinkman, of Elizabethtown, Pa.

Born Dec. 10, 1926, in Pawtucket, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Holda Dyl.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren D. "Pat" Ward, in 2001.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 830, Ladies Auxiliaries of American Legion 517 and VFW 6241, all of Mercersburg.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by two sons, Gary E. Ward of Mercersburg and Robie P. Ward of Chambersburg, Pa.; one brother, Walter Dyl of Cumberland, R.I.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home in Mercersburg. Dr. Keith Ackerman and Clifford Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Stone Church Cemetery in Little Cove, Pa.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

James R. Kerns II, 37

LOVETTSVILLE, Va. - James Robert Kerns II, 37, of Lovettsville, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at Loudoun Hospital Center in Leesburg, Va.

Born June 9, 1970, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of Patricia Johnson of Akron and the late James R. Kerns I.

He was a roofer in the construction industry.

He attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Loudoun Heights, Va.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Heather M. Kerns at home; three sons, Trevor W. Kerns, Tyler J. Kerns and Trey N. Kerns, all at home; and four sisters, Jamie Luli of Rootstown, Ohio, Johnna Williams of Tallmadge, Ohio, and Jeri Sampson and Jodi Grescovich, both of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Loudoun Heights. David Collins will officiate. Burial will be in Hillsboro (Va.) Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the church.

Betty J. Fickes, 90



1916-OCT. 29, 2007

WINCHESTER, Va. - Betty Jane Kepple Fickes, 90, of Winchester, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Winchester Medical Center.

Born in 1916, in Altoona, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Clara W. Kepple.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fickes, in 1990. They were married Feb. 7, 1942.

She retired in 1981 as a registered nurse from F.L. Smithe Machine Corporation in Duncansville, Pa.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester and First Lutheran Church in Altoona.

She volunteered as a docent at Glen Burnie and was a member of Kiwanis in Altoona.

She is survived by two daughters, Lynne Rio of Winchester and Leslie Nichols of Denver; one son, Charles B. Fickes III of Hagerstown; one brother, Robert Kepple of Mineral, Va.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Omps Funeral Home in Winchester. The Rev. James H. Utt and Pastor Martha Miller Sims will officiate.

Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Beatrice G. Moreland, 71

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Beatrice Grace Wilson Moreland, 71, of Bunker Hill, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Shenandoah Center.

Born March 6, 1936, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Bruce E. and Angeline Tarico Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rowlen E. Moreland.

She attended Berkeley County schools.
