October 29, 2007

The Williamsport High School class of 1957 held its 50th class reunion on Friday, Sept. 28, at the Elks Lodge on Robinwood Drive in Hagerstown.

Thirty-six class members plus their spouses or friends attended the event. Invited guests included three former high school teachers, Miss LaRue Hitchens, Mrs. Bertha Britner Miller and Mr. William Byers. Mr. Joseph Scott was unable to attend.

Reminiscing and renewing old friendships and sharing tales of school days were topics of many conversations. Lindin Bomberger Easterday presided over the program for the evening.

A remembrance table was displayed with a bouquet of roses, photos and a lighted candle for each of the 14 deceased classmates.

A special large cake was prepared and decorated with edible class photos of each classmate.

The room was decorated in a 1950s theme and included a memorabilia table.

Chrysanthemums in various colors were the centerpieces for each dining table and were given as door prizes at the conclusion of the program.
