Five sentenced for fake 'green cards'



MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Five area residents were sentenced Monday in United States District Court in Martinsburg, W.Va., for using counterfeit Alien Registration Receipt cards, the United States Attorney's office said.

· Guadalupe Delacruz, 27, of Martinsburg, pleaded guilty to the charge July 5 and was sentenced to three years probation.

· Manuel Chavez Hernandez, 34, of Martinsburg, pleaded guilty Oct. 10 and was sentenced to three years probation.

· Froilan Garcia Martinez, 29, of Martinsburg, pleaded guilty Aug. 21, 2007, and was sentenced to four months in prison followed by three years supervised release.

· Jose Paniagua, 23, of Martinsburg, pleaded guilty July 5 and was sentenced to one month in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

· Valentin Paniagua, 27, of Chambersburg, Pa., pleaded guilty Oct. 10 and was sentenced to three years probation.




W.Va. man sentenced for porn possession



MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A 22-year-old Harpers Ferry, W.Va., man who pleaded guilty in July to possession of pornography was sentenced Tuesday in United States District Court to 27 months in prison, the United States Attorney's office said.

Timothy Silveous was free on bond and was to report to a designated federal institution, the United States Attorney said in a news release.

Silveous pleaded guilty in connection with an Aug. 5, 2004, incident.
