Former Red Cross director indicted in Berkeley Co.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The former executive director of the Berkeley County chapter of the American Red Cross who was accused earlier this year of stealing more than $14,000 in gift-wrapping and payroll money from the organization was indicted by a grand jury Thursday.

Jonathon A. Jarrell, of 519 West Virginia Ave. in Martinsburg, was indicted on a felony count of embezzlement that police have alleged happened between November 2004 and July 2006, when he resigned.

Jarrell was among 66 people named in true bills decided by the sequestered jury panel for the October term of circuit court in Berkeley County since Tuesday, according to Prosecuting Attorney Pamela J. Games-Neely's office.

Also indicted Thursday:

· Jonathan P. Martin, 27, of 486 Classic Vanville Road, Martinsburg, on two counts of bringing stolen property into the state and a count of conspiracy between August 2006 and November 2006.

· Donna M. White, 44, of 71 Nottingham Blvd., on nine counts of conspiracy to forgery and nine counts of conspiracy to utter in October 2006.

· Kathy McIntyre, 48, of 83 Lester Lane, Hedgesville, W.Va., on one count of embezzlement between January 2004 and December 2006.

· Willie T. Holmes, 36, of P.O. Box 1411, Winchester, Va., on seven counts of sex abuse and seven counts of first-degree sex abuse between June 2006 and July 2007.

· Todd D. Robinson Jr., 22, of 78 Vine Circle, Martinsburg, on one count of embezzlement in May 2005.

· John Austin Perkins, 27, of 55 Garlic Lane, Falling Waters, W.Va., on one count of receiving stolen property in another state in September 2006.

· Steven C. Stephenson, 34, of 325 N. Mildred St., Apt. 4, Ranson, W.Va., on counts of second-degree attempted armed robbery, driving under the influence, petit larceny, improper registration and conspiracy in May 2007.

· Dustin A. Parsons, 21, of 938 All-American Way, Martinsburg, on nine counts of third-degree sexual assault and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance between August and September 2006 and March 2007.

· Anthony Joseph Hovermale, 40, of 106 Franks Road, Inwood, W.Va., on counts of driving under the influence third offense, driving while license revoked and suspended for DUI, defective equipment and improper registration in February 2007.

· Derrick A. Redman, 34, of 10 Beefy Drive, Martinsburg, on two counts of child abuse resulting in bodily injury in February 2007.

· Brian Stoner, 25, of 1896 Broad Lane, Falling Waters, on eight counts of uttering and two counts of conspiracy in September 2006.

· Donna J. Stoner, 21, of 1896 Broad Lane, Falling Waters, on five counts of forgery and two counts of conspiracy in September 2006.

An indictment merely reflects the grand jury's conclusion that the accused probably committed the crime or crimes in question, but it is not evidence of guilt.
