Rams' Wallace runs for 304 yards in win

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. - Dervon Wallace rushed for a school-record 304 yards to lead Shepherd to a 36-28 win over West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday.

Wallace carried 42 times and scored three touchdowns for Shepherd (7-1, 5-1).

The senior All-American candidate also set a Shepherd single-game record for all-purpose yards with 390, eclipsing the old mark of 325 set by Damian Beane in 1996 against Fairmont State.

Tyler Lazear was 9-of-18 passing for 100 yards for Shepherd. He also ran 22 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter to give the Rams the lead for good at 7-0.

Walt Gouveia returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter to make it 14-0. He also had a team-high nine tackles.

Greg Duncan ran for 145 yards a touchdown and Harry Lorusso was 9-of-23 passing for 170 yards and two touchdowns for Wesleyan (3-5, 1-4).
