October 20, 2007

A woman hospitalized Tuesday after a fire in her Robinwood Drive home was listed in fair condition Friday afternoon.

Darlene Sakalski remained a patient at the Washington (D.C.) Hospital Center. She was flown to the burn unit there after a fire in her kitchen Tuesday morning.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said at the time that Sakalski was melting wax in her kitchen when she was burned on 9 percent of her face, neck and arms.

A neighbor, Don Burger, said he got a hose and helped put out the fire after Sakalski knocked on his window.
