Habitat for Humanity

October 17, 2007

Tri-State area women swung into action with hammer and saw in May at the kickoff of Habitat for Humanity's second Women Build home project. The women were starting construction of a home on Wayside Avenue for Melissha Vaughn and her three daughters.

By midafternoon on the first day, the crew of about 40 volunteers had erected walls on the foundation. Building has continued through the summer, and dedication of the house is scheduled for Sept. 16, according to Habitat volunteer Pam Meredith.
