Sleep disorders program

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - West Virginia University Hospitals-East and the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center Eastern Division will sponsor a free community mini-medical school program on sleep disorders titled "Please Do Not Disturb" at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the Erma Byrd Health Professionals Education Center on the City Hospital campus.

The featured speaker will be Dr. Robert Bowen, board-certified internist and pulmonologist, who is a member of the medical staff at City Hospital.

Sign-in for the community mini-medical school program begins at 6:30 p.m., with the program to follow from 7 to 8 p.m.

Frederick County Health Department flu clinics are scheduled for:

· Friday, Nov. 2, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Governor Thomas Johnson High School, 1501 N. Market St., Frederick; Urbana High School, 3471 Campus Drive, Ijamsville, Md.; and Brunswick High School, 101 Cummings Drive, Brunswick, Md.


· Tuesday, Nov. 13, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Guardian Hose Company Activities Building, 123 E. Main St., Thurmont, Md.

· Thursday, Nov. 15, 1 to 6 p.m., Emmitsburg Senior Center, 300 S. Seton Ave., Emmitsburg, Md.

· Tuesday, Nov. 20, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Frederick Towne Mall, 1301 W. Patrick St., Frederick, Md. Use the mall entrances next to Home Depot.

No appointments are necessary. Flu shots and FluMist will be available at all clinics. Pneumonia vaccine will be available at all clinics except the Nov. 2 clinics.

Flu shots cost $15; FluMist $17; pneumonia vaccine $38. Payment can be made with cash or check; credit or debit cards are not accepted. Those with Medicare Part B are reminded to bring their card.
