Repairs to be made to city intersection

Street repairs at the intersection of Summit and Surrey avenues will begin Monday at 7 a.m., weather permitting, according to a City of Hagerstown press release.

Summit Avenue will be closed between Reynolds Avenue and Memorial Boulevard, and Surrey Avenue will be closed between Virginia and Guilford avenues, according to the release.

Traffic will be detoured around the work zone via Memorial Boulevard, Virginia Avenue, Reynolds Avenue and Guilford Avenue, according to the release.

Residents living on the streets being closed will be able to drive to their homes, but will not be able to drive through the intersection, according to the release.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through the work area, according to the release.

The work is expected to be completed in one day, according to the release.
