OSI marks 50 years

October 11, 2007

OSI celebrated 50 years of service on Sept. 19 with an open house. State Rep. Rob Kauffman, R-Cumberland/Franklin, back left, presented awards to Charles "Buddy" Small, front left, and Joe Miller, front right. Buddy and Joe are two of the original five individuals who started at OSI in 1957 through the efforts of the Chambersburg (Pa.) Civitan Club, Franklin Fulton Association for Retarded Citizens and the Franklin/Adams Easter Seal Society. The facility now provides an array of specialized employment services to more than 200 individuals with disabilities annually. Michael Jamison, back right, is OSI's executive director of occupational services.
