Hagerstown police were investigating a report of a stabbing Thursday in the 200 block of North Jonathan Street, according to Sgt. Paul Kifer.

Around 2 a.m., a fight broke out between two women in a parking lot across the street from the Sportsman's Club, Kifer said.

A 26-year-old Hagerstown woman realized during the fight that she had been stabbed and that the other woman was holding a knife, Kifer said. The victim was stabbed in the left arm and in the torso on the left side, but her injuries were not life-threatening, Kifer said.

One of the victim's friends drove her to the hospital.

The woman was expected to be released from the hospital Thursday, Kifer said.

Police did not release the victim's name.

Investigators have a lead on the attacker and more witnesses will be interviewed, Kifer said.
