Cromer suggests hiring staff attorney for Hagerstown

October 10, 2007|By DAN DEARTH

Hagerstown City Councilwoman Kelly S. Cromer said Tuesday the city should explore hiring a staff attorney to cut back on legal fees.

During a City Council work session, Cromer said paying a staff attorney a salary could be cheaper than paying the city's current legal representation by the hour.

The city is represented by attorneys Mark Boyer, John Urner and William Nairn.

Councilman Lewis C. Metzner said the city shouldn't try to fix a system that isn't broken.
