Olde Tyme Christmas event coming along

FUNKSTOWN ? Interested volunteers showed up for recent meetings of the Dec. 7 Olde Tyme Christmas celebration and contributions are coming in.

Rich Gaver said Monday night that the next planning meeting is today at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

"We are still looking for workers and ideas for activities at the event," he said.

The Volunteer Fire Department of Funkstown is helping with the craft show as well as the dinner and bake sale that will be held at the fire hall.

The parade will begin at the cemetery/monument and proceed along the main street to the fire hall, Gaver said.

"There may even be a band, but we're not sure yet," Gaver said.

Fifth installment for sewer plant OK'd

FUNKSTOWN ? The fifth payment for the sewer plant upgrade was authorized Monday night as town council members heard that work is on schedule even with some modifications.


Vice Mayor Paul Crampton Jr. said the payment is for $295,687. A meeting with contractors Monday showed that work was progressing well with some outside walls already completed.

Commissioners to visit town Nov. 6

FUNKSTOWN ? The Washington County Commissioners will be meeting at Funkstown Town Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m.
