October 09, 2007

FUNKSTOWN - The 729th Brigade Support Battalion, Maryland Army National Guard, donated a patriotic lithograph that depicts deployed citizen soldiers from across the country.

The Hagerstown unit contributed the lithograph to the Funkstown Legion Post No. 211 in memory of all the soldiers who made sacrifices for freedom.

"Spending time with former veterans is always an enjoyable time," Burnett said. "I have been a Legion member for the past seven years and wouldn't trade the opportunity to be part of a great organization."

The 729th is a 75-soldier task force composed of support personnel and combat service support equipment that handle all the logistical movement for the Army. The 729th Brigade Support Battalion has responded to natural disasters including Hurricane Katrina.
