Martinsburg police looking for shooter

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A man was shot Sunday night in Martinsburg, and police were still looking for the shooter Monday.

The Martinsburg Police Department responded to 316 Centre St. about 7:15 p.m. for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, police saw that several shots had been fired at the apartment building and they found a blood trail leading to the front and rear door of one of the apartments.

Police said four shots hit the front of the apartment building, and one shot went through a window and hit an inside wall.

Police said they were told that a man with a gunshot wound was at City Hospital in Martinsburg. Astley Brown had a single gunshot wound to his leg and was treated and released, police said.

Police said they are looking for someone with a green Saturn or Cavalier who might have been involved in this incident. Police are asking anyone with details about the crime to call 304-264-2100 or to call Crime Solvers at 304-267-4999.
