White appointed member of FCC's Board of Trustees

FREDERICK, Md. ? Doris J. White, supervisor of assessments with the State Department of Assessments and Taxation, was recently appointed to the Frederick Community College Board of Trustees.

White, a longtime supporter of the college, will complete the remaining three years of the term vacated by Deborah E. Voso.

White previously served two five-year terms on the FCC Board of Trustees from 1996 to 2006. She has served on the board of the FCC Foundation Inc. during the last year.

White served as chairperson for the FCC Board of Trustees from 2001-2003. She participated in the search process for the college's current president, Dr. Carol Eaton, and for the former president, Dr. Patricia Stanley.

White was appointed to the local office of the State Department of Assessments and Taxation as Supervisor of Assessments June 2, 1983.

White has been a volunteer for many years with Frederick Memorial Hospital, the Historical Society of Frederick County and the Commission for Women. She formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Frederick Babe Ruth Baseball League and worked for many years in youth sports.
