Work crews from CSX Railroad will begin repair work Tuesday on the railroad crossing on South Walnut Street near Park Circle, according to a City of Hagerstown press release.
The crossing will be closed to all vehicular traffic beginning Tuesday at 7 a.m. while the work is being completed.
Traffic approaching the crossing will be forced to detour around the work area onto other city streets, according to the release.
Local traffic will be permitted on South Walnut and South Prospect streets up to the crossing, according to the release.
Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through the work zone, according to the release.
CSX expects the crossing to reopen to vehicular traffic by Wednesday at 5 p.m., according to the release.
