WAYNESBORO, Pa. - A Waynesboro man was killed Friday night in a two-car accident near the intersection of Salem Church and Marsh roads, according to the Franklin County Coroner's Office.

Donald Bernhisel Jr., 37, of 43 N. Phillips Ave. in Waynesboro, was driving a GMC Sierra pickup truck when an SUV crossed the center line into his lane, Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said Saturday.

Bernhisel's truck caught fire in the accident, which occurred about 10:30 p.m., Conner said.

Bernhisel, who was in the truck by himself, was pronounced dead at 11:43 p.m., Conner said.

Conner said he did not have any information about the other vehicle or its passengers.

The Washington Township (Pa.) Police Department would not comment on the accident Friday or Saturday.

Conner said an autopsy has been scheduled for today at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pa.
