Baby-sitting course begins Monday

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -A 4-H baby-sitting course will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 1 through Nov. 5, at Penn State Cooperative Extension, 181 Franklin Farm Lane. The cost is $25 and includes program materials, a baby-sitting project book and other resource materials.

College prep conference, college fair planned

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Shepherd University and First in Your Family will host a college prep conference from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Shepherd University's student center.

Shepherd also will host the Jefferson and Berkeley counties college fair from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, and 8:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the Butcher Center.


The college prep conference will offer seminars on planning for college, choosing the right college, SAT and ACT testing tips, as well as information on financial aid programs and paying for college.

The college fair will have academic programs and information available from 60 colleges and universities.
