Landscape design series

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Franklin County Master Gardeners will offer its "Principles of Landscape Design" series. Participants will learn how to create a personal landscape plan. 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays, eight-week class. Imagination Station classes

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Adams County Arts Council's Imagination Station will offer the following classes:

· Introduction to acrylic painting - 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, Oct. 2 through 23. Instructor is Dorothea Barrick.

· Intermediate acrylic painting - 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 2 through 23. Instructor is Dorothea Barrick.

· Beaded amulet bags - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 2 through 23. Instructor is Jon Ricci.

· Hands-on art history for children in grades four through six - 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 3 through 31. Instructor is Emily Knowles-Kellett.

Piano lessons for ages 6 to 11

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - The Music Department at Shepherd University will offer free piano lessons to a select number of beginning piano students. Shepherd University music majors will teach the beginning piano students under the supervision of Gary Mullenax. Students must own or have access to a piano or full-size keyboard for practicing. 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays. Final recital 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12. $25 materials fee, lessons are free. CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Franklin County Master Gardeners will offer Fall Gardening 101. Class meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The Oct. 6 class will focus on house plants and propagation. Topics include how to take plant cuttings, diagnose plant diseases and prepare plants for winter. Students may bring along any problem houseplants to the class.

Class costs $5 per person, per workshop. Registration is required. Call 717-263-9226.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Wilson College will offer a variety of noncredit, personal enrichment classes for adults and high school students.

Classes include:

· Improving computer skills - 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, Oct. 6, 13 and 20. Room 009, Warfield Hall. $79.

· Basic Spanish - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 8 to Nov. 26. Room 002, Thomson Hall. $112.

· Herbs - 6:30 to 8 p.m. monthly on Thursdays. Classes Oct. 11, Nov. 15, Dec. 6. Room 110, Lortz Hall. $18 per class or $50 for all three.

· SAT review - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 16 to Nov. 1, and Monday, Oct. 29. Thomson Hall. $160.
