HCC offers course for real estate investors

Hagerstown Community College's Center for Continuing Education will offer new real estate investors in Washington County a 20-hour training course Tuesdays from 6 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Oct. 2.

The course will cover how to buy investment properties, financial analysis, financing options, income tax, small business planning, Maryland lead paint laws, local code ordinances, property management, landlord laws and evictions.

The course number is PLC417A. The cost for the eight-week class is $275, which includes materials.

Club to host Latino festival on Saturday

The No Smoking Youth Club in Hagerstown is hosting its first Family and Friends Day Latino Festival Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.

The event will celebrate Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month.

Heritage Academy to host family festival

Heritage Academy will host a family festival on Saturday, Oct. 6.


The event will include the school's annual auction, craft vendors, a farmers market, children's activities and food.
