CSX repairs expected to be completed soon

BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - Repairs to a CSX railroad crossing have closed Pa. 16 east of Monterey Lane in Washington Township, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Weather permitting, the repairs to the crossing will be completed by Thursday, according to PennDOT. Motorists will be detoured around the closure by Jacobs Church Road, Summit Farm Road and Monterey Lane, the press release stated.

About 6,350 vehicles use that section of Pa. 16 daily, according to PennDOT.

Work scheduled for section of U.S. 340

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Jefferson County motorists are being advised that construction work is scheduled to begin today for U.S. 340 near Harpers Ferry.

The work area begins north of the bridge across the Shenandoah River at Harpers Ferry and extends for one mile, ending at the Virginia state line, according to a West Virginia Department of Transportation Division of Highways news release.


Due to the heavy traffic in the area, work will be performed between the hours of 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. and will continue until completion, according to the release.

The work includes drainage and ditch work followed by paving, stone shoulders and pavement markings.
