Sheriff's deputies investigate incident

The Washington County Sheriff's Department Monday investigated a reported abduction from a home in the 19000 block of Mount Aetna Road, Lt. Mark Knight said this morning.

A woman returned home from dropping children off at school and found a door open and her husband's cane on the floor, Knight said. Her husband was missing.

Because of threatening text messages the man had received, deputies started an investigation into a burglary and possible abduction, Knight said.

At about 12:30 p.m., the Berkeley County, W.Va., Sheriff's Office advised Washington County investigators that the missing man was found.

The man reported that he had been abducted from his home by two men who put him in a van and drove him to West Virginia, Knight said. The man was dropped off in West Virginia.

No charges have been filed.
