Man charged in Dunkin' Donuts robbery

HAGERSTOWN - A Hagerstown man was charged Wednesday with armed robbery and other offenses in a Sept. 13 robbery of the Dunkin' Donuts shop on Dual Highway, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said.

Russell Anthony King, a.k.a. Ephraim Shaah, 43, also was charged with robbery, felony theft, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, Sgt. Roy Harsh said in a news release.

King, of 1531 Violet Drive, was wanted in New Jersey on a parole violation and was arrested near his home Wednesday morning, deputies said.

During the Dunkin' Donuts robbery, a man showed a handgun and forced two employees to open two cash registers, police have said.

Police did not release the names of the employees.

King was being held without bond Wednesday night at the Washington County Detention Center, a deputy said.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department and Hagerstown Police Department investigated the robbery.
