Local man sentenced in child porn case

BALTIMORE - A Hagerstown man was sentenced Tuesday in United States District Court to five years in prison for receiving child pornography, the United States Department of Justice said.

Upon his release from prison, Mark Bartles, 43, must register as a sex offender for 15 years, U.S. District Judge J. Frederick Motz ordered. Bartles will be on supervised release for the rest of his life, the department said in a news release.

FBI agents from Florida and Louisiana tracked down Bartles' computer through his IP address.

When FBI agents searched his home, they found a stack of computer printouts of child pornography, the Department of Justice said. Bartles' computer contained more than 600 images of prepubescent children being sexually abused, the department said.
