Williamsport bank robbed this morning

WILLIAMSPORT - A man who robbed a bank in Williamsport this morning matches the description of a man who robbed a bank in Martinsburg, W.Va., on Tuesday, a Washington County Sheriff's Department dispatcher said.

M&T Bank in Williamsport was robbed at about 9 a.m. today, the dispatcher said.

On Tuesday afternoon, Summit Community Bank in Old Courthouse Square on Edwin Miller Boulevard was robbed, according to Martinsburg Police.

Martinsburg Police said in a news release that a man handed a teller a note saying that he had a gun. He was given an undisclosed amount of money, then left.

The robber was described as a slender white male, about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a gray sweat shirt, painters' pants, sunglasses and a red baseball cap.

This morning's robber was described as a white man in his 30s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing a red baseball hat, a polo shirt, painters' pants and a red baseball cap, the dispatcher said.
