Kiwanis Club selling roses

September 19, 2007

The Kiwanis Club of Hagerstown is selling roses again this fall to raise money for its various community projects and scholarships.

Kiwanis Rose Day is Thursday, Oct. 25.

Each year, the Kiwanis Club sells boxed long-stemmed roses to raise money to fund children's programs in Washington County. In 2007, this sale funded activities at Girl's Inc, Boys and Girls Club of Washington County, Mason-Dixon Council Boy Scouts, Federal Little League and Good Citizens programs at Bester and Winter Street elementary schools, along with a reading program at Fountaindale Elementary. In addition, more than $5,000 in scholarships were awarded to high school seniors.

Here's how it works - order your roses by e-mail and specify color; red is most available and then yellow - other colors may be harder to get.

Let the club know who they are going to, or where you will be on Oct. 25, and the club members will deliver them to you.
