GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The Greencastle Borough Council will hold a special meeting today at 7 p.m. to discuss how to proceed in the search for a new police chief.

As of Monday, the borough received 17 requests for applications, but only one completed application has been returned, according to Mayor Robert Eberly.

"We're pleased that there are so many requesting the applications," Eberly said Tuesday night.

The deadline for completed applications is Oct. 19.

At the meeting, Eberly will present a report about how the police department is doing.

"We're doing great," Eberly said of the police department. "We got another part-time officer and hopefully we'll be able to schedule him this weekend."
