Blue Devils rebound, beat Boiling Springs

BOILING SPRINGS, Pa. - Evon Wiestling had a goal and two assists as No. 1 Greencastle scored three times in the second half of a 4-1 Mid-Penn Capital victory over Boiling Springs on Monday.

Wiestling assisted on Mac Frederick's goal to give the Blue Devils (8-2, 6-1) a 1-0 halftime lead.

Jake Dempsey scored on a Wiestling pass before Robert Burgess scored for Boiling Springs to cut the deficit to 2-1

Jai Courter scored off a pass from Evan Springer before Wiestling closed the scoring on a pass from Josh Higman.

Christian Hoover had four saves for Greencastle.

Clear Spring 2, No. 7 Williamsport 1

CLEAR SPRING - Alec Long scored the game winning goal in the final minute off an assist by Francesco Scotto di Carlo as Clear Spring sent Williamsport to its first loss of the season. Di Carlo had a goal and Elliot Reid had an assist for the Blazers (1-3).

Michael Reyes had the only goal for the Wildcats (3-1).

No. 5 Chambersburg 2, No. 1 Greencastle 0

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Sean Collier and Daniel Bosenbark scored goals, Jean Carlo Jimenez had an assist and Ethan Jednat made seven saves as the Trojans shut out the Blue Devils on Saturday.

No. 6 JB falls twice

DILLSBURG, Pa. - James Buchanan fell 2-0 to Middletown (Pa.) and 3-0 to Northern York in the Northern York Tournament on Saturday.

ELDERSBURG - Maria Borland, Stephanie Borland and Alluka Ogle-Moore each had a goal to lead the Hubs (4-0, 1-0) over Liberty. Ogle-Moore and Maria Borland each had an assist.

No. 3 Smithsburg 0, South Carroll 0

SMITHSBURG - Kirsten Cacciola had 10 saves for Smithsburg (3-1-1) in a scoreless tie against South Carroll. Amy Belsinger had 18 saves for the Cavaliers.

No. 6 Martinsburg 2, No. 5 Musselman 1

INWOOD, W.Va. - Kristen Marshall had a goal and an assist as Martinsburg defeated Musselman.

Amy Wright scored a goal and Alaina Heck had an assist for the Bulldogs (6-2-2).

Linganore 2, No. 4 Boonsboro 0

Annie Meyers had eight saves for Boonsboro (3-2-1) in a loss to Linganore.

Andrea Clark had 11 service points as Heritage Academy swept Adams County, 25-2, 25-2, 25-7. Rachel Clarke and Taylor McIntire each had 10 service points for the Eagles (5-2).

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Sharelle Larcomb had eight digs, five kills and three aces for Jefferson in a 26-24, 25-17, 25-20 loss to Hampshire.

Samantha Larcomb had five digs and four kills, Samantha Miller had nine assists, Rachel Rown had eight assists and Whitney Ferro had five digs and four kills for the Cougars.

McConnellsburg 3, CVCS 0

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A'leese Dickerson had 11 kills and Abby Cline had 15 digs as McConnellsburg swept Cumberland Valley Christian School, 25-19, 25-16, 25-12. Brittany Ott and Michelle Baker each had six aces for the Spartans (4-1).

A rarity for Breed

Liz Breed, of Waynesboro, Pa., shot a hole-in-one during Sunday's final round of the Coors Light Amateur Championship at Black Rock Golf Course in Hagerstown.

The 15-year-old golfer aced the 153-yard, 7th hole, using a 6-iron.

She was accompanied on the round by Jarrod Berthold, Shawn Carpenter and Ken Cosens.
