Red Cross schedules first Treasure Hunt

The Washington County Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold its first Treasure Hunt Antiques and Appraisal Event Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the 1131 Conrad Court headquarters.

The event includes an art exhibit and sale from artists from the Tri-State area associated with the Valley Art Association. The Mason Dixon Area Antique Automobile Club of America will bring vehicles for a car show.

A live auction at 2:30 p.m. by Wise Auctioneer Brad Elwood will include paintings and antiques. Those attending may bring treasures to be appraised by volunteer appraisers for $5 per item.

Funds raised through the event will be used to support Red Cross services like local disaster relief, blood collections, assistance to military families, first aid, CPR, water safety training and transportation for veterans to the VA Medical Center.
