Younger Toyota



Younger Toyota in Hagerstown was a recipient of the 2006 Toyota Motor Sales President's Award.

The 21st annual award was presented to a select group of dealerships across the country.

This marks the ninth year the Hagerstown dealership has received the award.

Chamber of Commerce



The Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce welcomed the following new members in August:

Ace of Shades, Better Shredder Inc., Buchanan Auto Park, Buchanan Automotive Inc., Character Counts, Girls Inc. of Washington County, Housing Authority of the City of Hagerstown, Keystone Ford and Landmark Equipment.

Also, Mobile Compughter Solutions Inc., National Association for the Self-Employed, Gary Palank, D.D.S., P.A. Family, Cosmetic, and Implant Dentistry, Sperry Van Ness Investor Realty, University of Maryland, University College and Val-Pak Of Cumberland Valley Inc.

Capuco Consulting Services



Capuco Consulting Services Inc. has been awarded several contracts with the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The first of the contracts is for developing and delivering historic walking tours of the downtown Hagerstown area with the goal of attracting more visitors.

A second contract is for supporting the CVB in strategic planning, focusing on future goals and implementation strategies for the CVB.

A third contract was offered on Aug. 10 for Capuco Consulting to provide an orientation tour to visitors attending conventions at one of the county facilities.

Capuco Consulting Services Inc. is based in Annapolis and has an office in Hagerstown.

Timothy A. Davis,Saunders Tax & Accounting



Local tax consultant Timothy A. Davis has merged with Saunders Tax & Accounting, both of Hagerstown.

Together they form one of the largest independent tax practices in Maryland.

Previously located in the South End Shopping Center in Hagerstown, Davis started his career as an IRS agent before opening his private practice 31 years ago. He has moved to the main office location of Saunders Tax & Accounting at 17339 Virginia Ave.

Saunders Tax & Accounting also has an office at 562 Northern Ave., Hagerstown.

The company will celebrate its 25th year in business during the coming tax season.

The combined practice will continue to provide full-service accounting and payroll for commercial clients as well as tax preparation for individuals and businesses.

Until tax season, office hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sir Speedy



MARTINSBURG, W.Va., - John and Roberta Chromey, owners of Sir Speedy at 1351 Edwin Miller Blvd. in Martinsburg, have received a Sir Speedy Century Club Award.

The award recognizes Sir Speedy's top 100 centers by sales.

The Century Club sales achievement award is presented annually at the Sir Speedy International Convention, held this year in Denver.
