Resources for job-seekers

September 14, 2007

Following is a list of resources for job-seekers:

· Classified advertisements, local and national Web sites and word-of-mouth are ways to find a job.

To search for jobs in Maryland and beyond, go to mwe.dllr.state.md.us/default.asp?

Several area newspapers, including The Herald-Mail, have teamed up to create the Web site www.jobfetch.com, which has job listings in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.

· Several staffing agencies (commonly called temp agencies) offer employment services. Check the phone book's "Employment" section in the yellow pages for more information.

Job fairs

· Fourth Annual Fall Job Fair. Friday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hagerstown Community College's Athletic, Recreation and Community Center. The Herald-Mail Co. will hold the job fair in partnership with HCC and the Washington County One-Stop Job Center, which is part of the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.
