The University System of Maryland at Hagerstown is adding several new degree options this year.

Frostburg State University will offer a bachelor's degree in early childhood education in the fall, and bachelor's and master's degrees in social work will be available from Salisbury University.

University of Maryland University College will offer a bachelor's degree in investigative forensics, and Towson University will add a master's in nursing to its current bachelor's in nursing offering.

The University System of Maryland at Hagerstown opened for students in January 2005.

Students can complete bachelor's degrees and earn master's degrees in a variety of programs offered by five universities at the center in the former Baldwin House complex in downtown Hagerstown.

Classes are offered at various times by Towson University, University of Maryland College Park, University of Maryland University College, Frostburg State University and Salisbury University.

Towson University offers bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing.

University of Maryland University College offers bachelor's degrees in accounting, social science, information systems management and investigative forensics.

Frostburg State University offers sociology, business administration, criminal justice, liberal studies and early childhood education.

The center offers a library and computer labs, and on-site academic advising is available.

According to its Web site, University of Maryland University College charges Maryland residents $230 per undergraduate credit hour. Tuition for out-of-state undergraduates is $466 per credit hour. Most classes are online.

Tuition and mandatory fees for Towson University undergraduate nursing students total $3,617 for in-state undergraduates and $8,587 for out-of-state students. Towson's graduate nursing tuition and mandatory fees total $367 per unit for in-state students and $681 per unit for out-of-state students.

University of Maryland College Park graduate students pay $427 per credit hour for in-state tuition, and out-of-state graduate students pay $921 per credit hour.

Tuition and applicable fees for Frostburg State University's Hagerstown undergraduate classes are $218 per credit hour for in-state students and $396 per credit hour for out-of-state students. Graduate classes are $304 per credit hour for in-state students and $347 for out-of-state students.

Salisbury University's undergraduate tuition is $200 per credit hour for in-state students and $537 per credit hour for nonresidents. Graduate tuition is $260 per credit hour for in-state students and $556 for out-of-state students.

Students are subject to additional fees.
