HANCOCK - Canal-Apple Days is about people, parades and fresh apple cider on the spot.
Hancock's Lions and Lioness Clubs will host the 31st Canal-Apple Days, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Widmeyer Park.
At least 60 craft, art and food vendors are expected at the park Saturday and Sunday, said Lions Club chairman and organizer James "Red" Smith. There also will be an old-fashioned press cranking out apple cider.
A parade kicks off the festivities Saturday along Main Street. Other activities include a baby contest and live music performances at the park.
Staff and children at Good Shepherd Preschool in Hancock hope their float, "Candy Apple of My Teacher's Eye," wins first prize in the parade this year, said January Souders, the preschool's director. The school won second prize last year.
