Genealogy to be topic at presentation



CLEAR SPRING - Basic genealogy with Jeff Korman will be presented at the Leonard P. Snyder Memorial Library Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Korman who is associated with the Enoch Pratt Library in Baltimore, will talk about genealogical research and available resources.

Author to talk about John Bell pottery



CLEAR SPRING - Gene Comstock, author of the 1994 book, "Pottery of the Shenandoah Region," will be speaking about John Bell pottery and other pottery Thursday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. at St. John's UCC at the corner of Cumberland and Mill streets.

Comstock is working on five new publications about pottery, folk art, iron and furniture of the Shenandoah region.

The event is sponsored by the Clear Spring District Historical Association and is free to the public.
