WILLIAMSPORT - Three people were taken to the hospital Monday night after a two-car crash at U.S. 11 and Interstate 81 near Williamsport, police said.

Maryland State Police Trooper 1st Class A.L. Smith said the injuries were not life-threatening.

Megan Ashley Wagner, 22, of Williamsport, was driving a Honda north on U.S. 11, Smith said.

When Jeremy Adam Salmon, 21, of Falling Waters, W.Va., tried to make a left turn from U.S. 11 onto southbound I-81, he pulled in front of Wagner's Honda, which hit his Nissan, Smith said.

A passenger in Salmon's car - Megan Albert, 19, of Martinsburg, W.Va. - was trapped in the car. Rescuers removed the doors to get her out.

At about 8:45 p.m., she was placed in an ambulance and taken to the hospital.

Smith said both drivers were taken to the hospital.

Part of the northbound lane of U.S. 11 was closed for about an hour and traffic was directed onto southbound I-81 while police and firefighters worked at the scene.
