Shank-Aaron

John and Sharon Shank of Boonsboro, announce the engagement of their daughter, Carrie Mildred Shank, to Robert Patrick Aaron II, son of Jim and Tammy Aaron of Hagerstown.

Miss Shank is a 2002 graduate of South Hagerstown High School and received a Bachelor of Science in business administration and industrial and organizational psychology from High Point University in 2006. She is employed as a human resources assistant at Susquehanna Bancshares.

Mr. Aaron is a 2001 graduate of Smithsburg High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in exercise science from Muskingum College in 2005. He is employed as a service coordinator at Total Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc.

Ashley-McCall

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Ashley, of Lake Saint Louis, Mo., formerly of Smithsburg, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Dawn Ashley, to Joseph Calvin McCall, son of John and Jeanette McCall of Waldorf, Md.

Miss Ashley is a 1999 graduate of Smithsburg High School and received a Bachelor of Arts from Hood College in 2003 and a paralegal certificate from Frederick Community College. She is employed as a research analyst at the FBI in Washington, D.C.

Mr. McCall is a 1997 graduate of Thomas Stone High School in Waldorf. He served as a combat engineer in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2000 to 2004. He is a police officer with the City of Hyattsville and is a sergeant in the Army Reserve.

Palladino-Reed

Lewis and Shirley Palladino of Hagerstown, announce the engagement of their daughter, Alexis Palladino, to Byron Reed, son of John and Sandra Reed of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Allen and Terri Valentine of Elizabeth, W.Va.

Ms. Palladino is a 2001 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and a 2006 graduate of Shepherd University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in mass communications. She is employed by K.Hovnanian Homes as a community sales consultant.

Mr. Reed is a 1998 graduate of Hedgesville High School and a 2003 graduate of Glenville State College. He holds a bachelor's degree in business management. He is employed by Shenandoah Mortgage as a mortgage consultant.

Friton-Staines

Mr. and Mrs. John E. Friton of Chester, Md., announce the engagement of their daughter, Natalie Elizabeth Friton, to Timothy Staines, son of Liz Carlin of Annapolis, Md., and the late Raymond Staines.

Ms. Friton is a 1998 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and received a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. She is the managing editor for PassageMaker Magazine in Annapolis.

Mr. Staines is a 1997 graduate of Severn School, Severn, Md., and received a Bachelor of Science from Salisbury University in Salisbury, Md. He owns and operates small businesses in the marine and marketing industry in Annapolis.

Heefner-Fay



Gary and Sharon Fay of Hagerstown, announce the engagement of their son, Zachary D. Fay, to Jami N. Heefner, daughter of Fred and Tammy Heefner of Greencastle, Pa.

Ms. Heefner is a 2003 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and a 2007 graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. She is employed in internal audit by Wachovia, Inc. in Charlotte, N.C.

Mr. Fay is a 2003 graduate of Smithsburg High School and plans to graduate from Fairmont University in Fairmont, W.Va., in May 2008. He is a member of the 167th Unit of the West Virginia Air National Guard in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Wolfe-Cool

Erin Christine Wolfe and Joseph Wesley Cool announce their engagement.

Miss Wolfe is the daughter of Shana Wolfe of Greencastle, Pa., and Daryl Wolfe of Hagerstown. She is a 2003 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and received a Bachelor of Arts from Messiah College in Harrisburg, Pa. She is employed as a news reporter by NBC25 in Hagerstown.

Mr. Cool is the son of Susan Short of Chambersburg, Pa., and Randy Cool of Hagerstown. He is a 2000 graduate of Washington County Technical High School. He is employed as an automotive technician at G-Force Design Concepts in Chambersburg, Pa.

Mr. and Mrs. Cas Sobus of Hagerstown, announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Christina Sobus, to Daniel Eugene Gue, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gue of Keedysville, Md.

Ms. Sobus is a graduate of Williamsport High School and a graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in communications. She is employed as an assistant facility security officer for CNSI of Rockville, Md.

Mr. Gue is a 1995 graduate of Brunswick High School. He is employed as a project coordinator for NVR, Architectural Services of Frederick, Md.

Ms. Price is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell W. Botkin of Staunton, Va., and Thurman G. Fitzgerald of Swoope, Va. She is employed with Hagerstown Trust Co. in Boonsboro.

Mr. Woodward is the son of Jennifer Taylor of Martinsburg, W.Va., Denis H. Woodward of Smithsburg, and Ray and Sandy Wolfe of Argyle, Texas. He is a 1979 graduate of Smithsburg High School. He is employed by Atlas Copco CMT USA in Baltimore.

Patterson-Mitty

Shawn M. Mitty and Autumn T. Patterson announce their engagement.

Ms. Patterson is the daughter of Shannon Turner of Hagerstown. She is a 1998 graduate of South Hagerstown High School and a student of Hagerstown Business College. She is employed at V.F.W. Post 1936 in Hagerstown.

Mr. Mitty is the son of James and Connie Mitty of Cumberland, Md. He is a 1994 graduate of Allegany High School in Cumberland and served in the U.S. Army. He is employed by J.D. Long Masonry Inc. in Newington, Va., as a bricklayer.
