Blazers' Lavender still hospitalized after hit

September 10, 2007

BALTIMORE - Clear Spring quarterback Jordan Lavender remained in the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center on Sunday after suffering a concussion during the Blazers' 21-0 season-opening loss on Friday to Baltimore Lutheran.

Lavender was hit from behind while trying to pass with three minutes remaining in the game, according to Clear Spring coach Craig Bathgate. The junior quarterback experienced a seizure after the play, the result of a concussion he suffered earlier in the game, Bathgate said.

Lavender's condition was listed as stable Sunday, according to a Shock Trauma nurse. He was to remain hospitalized overnight and could be released today after a therapy session, Bathgate said.
