BOONSBORO - A 19-year-old Frederick, Md., man died early Sunday when he lost control of a motorcycle on Alternate U.S. 40, according to Maryland State Police in Hagerstown.

Bradley Nelson Martin, of the 7100 block of Rock Creek Drive, was eastbound on a 1993 Honda when he crashed into a guardrail east of Toms Road at about 3:50 a.m., police said.

Martin died at the scene of the accident, said police, who believe excessive speed might have contributed to the crash. Police were still investigating the accident late Sunday.

The crash was the second deadly motorcycle accident on a short stretch of Alternate U.S. 40 in three months.

Tyler Patterson Curry, 22, of Boonsboro, died in a motorcycle crash west of Cool Hollow Road in early June. Curry was struck head-on by a Mack tractor when he rode into the oncoming traffic lane, police said.
