How did you get into business?: "We always wanted to own a business and when we moved from Montgomery County (Md.) two years ago we began the process of looking for a viable business opportunity that would make sense in the Hagerstown area. Our family is business-oriented, and we believe in working hard and having something for ourselves so that we can have a legacy to pass on to our children.

"In addition, we strongly believe in supporting the local economy where we reside, so it was a no-brainer that our business would be located in Washington County.

"We are first-time business owners and we basically did market research to narrow down our choices of businesses that would make sense for the demographics that we were targeting. Dollar stores have been around for years, but they have become a profitable investment in recent years.

"Market research and trends reveal that that if you offer quality products at reasonable prices you will attract a steady flow of clientele ... and who can beat a dollar?"

In addition, they said, "we shopped in dollar stores for years and we observed that the ones that do well are often presentable, provide unique and useable products, and have great customer service. We believe that these are the premise that will make our store a success story."

At JS Dollar World, "we offer a 'one-stop' shopping experience in a clean and friendly atmosphere. Our goal is to ensure that our customers are satisfied with not only the products we carry but with the service we provide."
