ACCIDENT, Md. - Bobby Smith rushed for 214 yards on 24 carries and scored a touchdown as part of Smithsburg's 27-0 season-opening rout of Northern Garrett on Friday.

Bryan Faulders was 6-for-12 passing for 97 yards and a touchdown for the Leopards (0-1). Josh Conway, Alex Akers and Eric Parker added a TD each.

Park View 35, Jefferson 22

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Brandon Hyler passed for 181 yards and ran for 90, including 61 yards for a touchdown, in Jefferson's loss to Park View (2-0).

Dewey McDonald ran for 63 yards and a touchdown, and had two interceptions on defense, returning one for a score for the Cougars (0-3).


Shenandoah Valley 39, James Buchanan 6

SHENANDOAH, Pa. - Tyson Keith ran for a team-high 77 yards and the lone touchdown for James Buchanan as the Rockets (0-2) suffered a road loss to Shenandoah Valley.

The Blue Devils (2-0), who led just 7-0 at halftime, outgained James Buchanan 390-151.

Berkeley Springs 40, Grafton 3

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Cody Hess ran for 135 yards and three touchdowns to lead Berkeley Springs in a rout of Grafton (2-1). Hess had TD runs of 3, 3 and 55 yards.

Cody Reed ran for 163 yards, including TD runs of 62 and 67 yards.

Matt Colwell also scored a touchdown for the Indians (3-0) on a 65-yard run.

State College 43, Chambersburg 0

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Alex Kenney and Jared Slike each rushed for two touchdowns - Slike on runs of 71 and 21 yards, and Kenney on runs of 22 and 5 yards - as State College shut out Chambersburg (0-2).

Lawrence Ryland scored on a 14-yard run, Russell Nye kicked a 47-yard field goal and Brian Miller scored on a 43-yard run for the Lions (2-0).

Sherando 40, Musselman 7

STEPHENS CITY, Va. - Ethan French had a 54-yard touchdown run for Musselman's lone score, as the Applemen were knocked off by Sherando.

Sherando (2-0) scored six touchdowns before Musselman (1-2) got on the scoreboard.
