Sobriety checkpoints set for Sept. 7, 8, 14, 15

September 03, 2007

Labor Day weekend is winding down, but that won't mean the end of police vigilance in keeping drunken drivers off the roads. The Hagerstown Police Department will be conducting sobriety checkpoints Sept. 7 and 8, and Sept. 14 and 15.

City police will be working in coordination with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and program Checkpoint Strikeforce, a statewide campaign to stop drunken drivers and raise public awareness about impaired driving.

Police are not disclosing the location of the checkpoints.
