Shepherdstown, W.Va., resident Carley Jane Wilson, 19, has been selected as a princess in the 71st Mountain State Forest Festival in Elkins, W.Va., Sept. 29-Oct. 7.

U.S. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., announced Wilson's appointment to the court of Maid Silvia LXXI Catherine Ann Wilkes.

Wilson, daughter of Helen Toby of Shepherdstown and Jonathan Wilson of Spain, is a sophomore at Shepherd University pursuing a degree in psychology. She has one sister, Ashley, and is the granddaughter of Helen Goracoff of Martinsburg, W.Va.

She is a 2006 graduate of Jefferson High School, where she served as Student Government Association secretary, wrestling team manager and Future Business Leaders of America historian. She earned a fifth-place award in the state FBLA competition.
