Indians lose heartbreaker

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Ben Dupree's 8-yard touchdown pass to Taj Turner as time expired lifted Susquehanna Township to a 27-26 victory over Waynesboro in the season opener for both teams Friday night.

Ian Smith scored on a 71-yard screen pass late in the third quarter and then had a 9-yard touchdown run early in the fourth to give Waynesboro a 26-21 lead.

Dupree's 12-yard TD pass to Earl Timothy and Gabriel Oliver's 21-yard TD run gave Susquehanna Township a 14-6 halftime lead.

Sherando 7, Jefferson 0

STEPHENS CITY, Va. - Ross Metheny's 37-yard touchdown pass to Derek Crosen in the second quarter proved to be all the scoring Sherando needed as the Warriors blanked Jefferson.

The Cougars (0-2), who gave up 280 rushing yards in a loss to Brooke last week, tightened up on Sherando, surrendering just 166 on the ground and holding Metheny to 118 yards on 8-of-13 passing.

Jefferson struggled in the passing game once again as Brandon Hyler completed 4-of-12 passes for 59 yards.

Musselman 21, Loudoun County 7

LEESBURG, Va. - Brandon Michael led Musselman over Loudoun County (0-1) with a 4-yard touchdown run and an 11-yard touchdown pass to Casey Cochran.

Ethan French also scored a touchdown for the Appleman (1-1) with a 2-yard run.
