Man faces abuse, sex offense charges

A Hagerstown man under investigation in a child pornography case faces child abuse and sex offense charges after police say he molested a 10-year-old boy on two occasions.

William Aaron Keck, 21, of 800 Dual Highway, was being held without bond.

The 10-year-old told investigators that Keck handcuffed him to a bed and performed oral sex on him in April and had forced him to perform oral sex in December, according to charging documents.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Sept. 25 in Washington County District Court.

Ex-employee ordered to pay back Sears

A Hagerstown man received probation before judgment Thursday on charges that he stole $1,050 from the cash register over 11 months at Sears, where he worked.

Earl William Bere, 36, of 18765 Diller Drive, will serve 18 months probation and must pay the $1,050 back to Sears in Valley Mall.

Bere submitted a written confession that he had taken bills, usually fifties or hundreds, about once a month for part of 2006 and 2007, according to charging documents. He said he could not make ends meet because of family financial problems, according to the documents.
