Rock 'n' Ride set for Sept. 8

Six riders from the GT BMX Freestyle team will join four national touring bands for the first Downtown Live! Rock 'n' Ride on Saturday, Sept. 8.

The event will be in the parking lot behind the Baltimore Street Station Car Wash at 32 W. Baltimore St. in Hagerstown. Gates will open at 11 a.m., and the event will end at 7 p.m.

The GT Freestyle team tours across the country performing flips and tricks.

The four bands that will perform are The Hint, Hotspur, Dropout Year and Calisus.

The Hint, Hotspur and Dropout Year are touring with the Vans Warped Tour, and Calisus was the winner of the July 28 Downtown Live! Battle of the Bands.

Tickets are available in advance at for $5.

Tickets also will be available the day of the event. Tickets will cost $5 before noon, and $8 after noon. Children younger than 5 will be admitted free.


Proceeds from the event will assist in the development of the new Barbara Ingram School for the Arts on South Potomac Street.
