Fundraiser to benefit family of sick girl

A fundraiser for the family of 3-year-old Madisyn Wilson of Hagerstown will be Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 8 a.m. to noon in the College Center at Hagerstown Community College.

Madisyn, who is a student at HCC's Children's Learning Center, has been diagnosed with ALL, a form of leukemia.

The fundraiser is being organized by HCC's Student Government Association. Proceeds will be donated to Madisyn's family to help defray the cost of medical care.

For a minimum donation of $5, attendees will be treated to frozen frappe, mocha, latte, scones, muffins, brownies and more. Drinks will be provided by Higher Ground Coffee, and snacks will be provided by the SGA.

Introductory yoga session set at HCC

Hagerstown Community College's Center for Continuing Education is offering an introductory session in yoga on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Village at Robinwood, Robinwood Room.


The class is designed to allow students the opportunity to try basic poses, breathing and relaxation techniques.

Cost is $30.
