Downtown Rock 'n' Ride set for Saturday, Sept. 8

August 29, 2007

Demcore Entertainment will welcome six riders from the GT BMX Freestyle team as well as four national touring bands to Hagerstown for the first Downtown Live ! Rock 'n' Ride on Saturday, Sept. 8.

The GT Freestyle team tours across the country performing flips and tricks just like you see on TV. Three of the four bands are currently touring on the national Vans Warped Tour.

The event will benefit the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts to assist in the development of the new school on South Potomac Street.

With 20-plus years of touring experience, the BMXers compete in many top competitions such as the X Games, Gravity Games and Dew Action Sports Tour.

The four bands include The Hint, Hotspur, Dropout Year and Calisus.

The latter was the winner of the Downtown Live! Battle of the Bands that was held on July 28. The first three are touring with the Vans Warped Tour, and all four are Maryland natives.

Tickets are available in advance at for $5. Tickets will also be available the day of the event. If you arrive before noon, tickets are still $5; thereafter tickets will be $8 for everyone (children under 5 are free). You are invited to bring lounge chairs to the event. This is an all-ages event.

The event will take place in the parking lot behind the Baltimore Street Station Car Wash, 32 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown. Gates will open at 11 a.m. and the event will end at 7 p.m.
