MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Martinsburg-Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce will host the Wild, Wild West Auction at The Purple Iris in Martinsburg on Sept. 7 beginning at 6 p.m.

Twenty percent of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle, with the remaining funds used by the Chamber of Commerce for programs and services.

This is the sixth year that the Chamber has hosted this auction, which consists of both silent and live auction items. All items up for auction have been donated or sponsored by community businesses or organizations. As in previous years, Bechdel Jewelers will provide a diamond and precious stones to be discovered when participants pan for gold.

"The Wild, Wild West Auction is one of the largest fundraisers of the year for the Chamber of Commerce," said Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tina Combs.
